NIGERIA: OUR LAND...OUR PRIDE!

OUR LAND...OUR PRIDE!

Tears trickling down my cheek
Fear almost holding my heart captive
The lot of the hopeless gradually becoming our fate
We wail and cry out no one answer
The man whose duty it is to care and answer is deaf to our cry
The men who should remind him to listen are long blind and deaf to us,
 before him.

We look out but saw no semblance of hope
We search within, still look bleak
“I see better days ahead, it is well” the optimists echoes
“We are doomed, it is over, we have failed” the pessimist maintained
We struggle to hold on to our faith
Trying times are but for a season they say
But our season seems hell bent on staying

Still, steadfastly we hold on to our faith…..
Our strong, steel laden, faith in our land
Saying though we can’t see no hope in sight
But we believe it’s there
Though the future looks bleak
But we know the veil will be lifted and we will behold our bright future
For sure, God will heal our land!
Nigeria…our land, our pride!
                                                                                                                                                                                Sane.

NIGERIA: WHERE DEATH IS CHEAP!

Bombs are still going off...accidents still happen on the
roads...petrol-carrying tankers still explodes...Suddenly! Planes too
have started crashing.

How did it get to this? If you go to church BH will bomb you. If you
decide to board a plane,it just may crash, if you decide to go by bus
armed robbers may attack and you may be shot dead. If you decide to
stay at home a plane might just crash on your house. If you decide to
just take a walk, you just might be kidnapped and killed if ransome is
not paid.

Hmmm!...so where do we run to? Nigerians die needlessly everyday
because of some folk's negligence and incompetence. We don't care, we
can sacrifice lives just to make few notes.

True, death is inevitable, but here it is cheap! It amazes me how we
don't value human life here. Blatant disregard for obvious signs of
disaster causing thousands of avoidable deaths. This is murder!

God help us all! Our land needs healing. Thousands of brilliant minds
and intellectuals lost yearly to senseless, avoidable deaths.

God! Help Nigeria!

REPS SUMMON OBASANJO FOR CALLING THEM "ROGUES AND ARMED ROBBERS"

The Nigerian House Of Rep hinted that it will have to summon Former President Olusegun Obasanjo to come and defend a statement credited to him. Obasanjo had on Wednesday called some members of NASS 'rogues and armed robbers' while wondering what kind of law they make. The House of Reps committee on ethics has been directed to investigate the allegation.

The Senate on its part asked the former President to name the rogues and armed robbers among the legislators.  The senate spokesman said that that Obasanjo is highly respected and will not like to engage in any talk-back with him.

I wonder what they are 'armed' with, abi, an armed robber is sha armed with something!!!

US CONGRESS WANTS BOKO HARAM LISTED AS TERROR GROUP

The United States (US) Congress is stepping up pressure on the Barack
Obama administration to formally designate the Boko Haram sect, which
has alleged al-Qaeda links, as a "foreign terrorist organization".
Mr Scott Brown, a Republican senator from Massachusetts, wrote
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton late last week on the matter.
He urged Mrs Clinton to designate thesect, which has been linked to
700 killings in Nigeria in the past 18 months, as a terrorist
organisation under US law.
ON Sunday, US Representatives, Peter King and Patrick Meehan, chairmen
of the House Homeland Security Committee and its counterterrorism
subcommittee, released a letter they sent to Clinton last Friday,
suggestingthat the administration was moving too slowly on the matter.
King and Meehan cited a Reuters' report last week about how the
Justice Department earlier this year had urged the State Department to
apply the "foreign terrorist" designation to Boko Haram. The
congressmen suggested that by not doing so, the department was
"denying the United States intelligence and law enforcement
communities the tools they need to combat an al Qaeda-affiliated
terrorist organization.
