STOLEN CAR FOUND AFTER 42 YEARS

Bob Russell said his 1967 Austin-Healey was stolen
from a Philadelphia apartment complex in 1970,
when he was a graduate student at Temple
University, and he searched for the cream-colored car
for four decades until he found it listed this year on
eBay, the Dallas Morning News reported Wednesday.
Russell, who still has the original keys and title to the
car, said he contacted the dealership selling the
vehicle and they offered to sell it back to him for $
24,000, which he found unacceptable. However, he
said Los Angeles police were unable to help him
because there was no record of the theft in the
national database.
Russell said he contacted Philadelphia police and
they were able to determine the car had been listed
under the wrong VIN number in the FBI database, the
Philadelphia Inquirer reported. They were able to fix
the error without having to file a new stolen vehicle
report.
The car owner said Los Angeles authorities were then
able to impound the car and he was able to travel to
California and retrieve it for a $600 impound fee in
June.

the appointment.
The other seventeen permanent secretaries are: Mr.

served in the Rivers and Bayelsa states civil services
before her husband's election as deputy governor.
However, our reporter couldn't confirm if she had
been due for appointment as permanent secretary
before her husband's first election.
The wife of the President has a National Certificate of
Education in Mathematics/Biology, which she
obtained in 1989 from the Rivers State College of
Education. She also has a degree in Biology and
Psychology (Education) from the University of Port
Harcourt, Rivers State.
Contacted, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor
Seriake, on Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Mackson

MANCHESTER UNITED EYEING FALCAO

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is chasing Atletico Madrid
striker Radamel Falcao. United intermediaries are confident Falcao can
be signed from Atletico for less than what Borussia Dortmund want for
striker Robert Lewandowski. Ferguson regards Falcao as the best young
centre-forward in the world and is even open to including Nani in
their offer for the Colombia international. Chelsea are also eyeing
Falcao, though appear to be more focused on signing Porto ace Hulk.

When Giving Up Is Not An Option

There are times in our lives when it makes a whole lot of sense to
throw in the towel and just give it all up. I know because I have been
in that situation a number of times too.

You just don't find the need or the motivation to go on. You get so
depressed giving up seems to be the only option. Truth be told, this
is just an indication that time is almost up for the challenge.

You are nearer to the end than before, but the pain and the challenge
assumes an all time high it becomes highly unbearable....yet truth is
you have to hold on...

If only you could see beyond you...giving up now is as bad as crashing
few seconds to the finish line...as crazy as loosing your feet in
front of an empty net.

Giving up now that you are a few minutes to victory is not an
option...grab wise counsel.

The rain will come no doubt, it is for you to endure the pain, your
gain awaits you after the storm...though you be drained and strained,
still wait because you are soon to reign!

KILLERS OF SENATOR MUST BE FISHED OUT- JONATHAN

The president says everything possible will be
done to apprehend the lawmaker's killers
President Goodluck Jonathan has given a
marching order to security agencies in the
country to fish out the killers of Senator Gyang
Dantong without delay.
Mr. Dantong, the senator who, until his death,
represented Plateau North Senatorial district, died
in yet unclear circumstances on Sunday.
A version of the story said he died of gunshot
wounds he sustained during an attack by Fulani
herdsmen while yet another version said he
collapsed and died while attending the burial of
the victims of an attack on villagers on Saturday
which left over 20 dead.
In a statement by his spokesperson, Reuben
Abati, the president described the killing as cruel
and regrettable.
Mr. Abati said Mr. Jonathan had directed all
security agencies to immediately launch a
thorough investigation into the incident and bring
the senator's killers to justice.
The President also condoled with the government
and people of Plateau State as well as members
and the leadership of the Senate on the incident.
The statement added, "The Federal Government is
working hard to ensure that there is a check on
impunity.
"That much was demonstrated with the recent
changes made in the top echelon of our security
architecture especially with the appointment of
the new National Security Adviser.
"We shall continue to re- invigorate our fight
against terrorism and impunity and we are
already taking concrete steps."

Pot Bellied Police Officers to Lose their Jobs in Pakistan

It may sound like a rude joke but it is so true. The Pakistani police
IG has issues a statement urging all overweight police officers to
shed the extra weight within days or risk losing their job.

The accepted waistline for officers is pegged at a max of 38 inches.
After the weight screening of about 170,000 officers 250 were found to
be overweight and have been given days to shape up or shape out.
