NUC SUSPENDS SEVEN PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES LICENSE

The operational licences of seven
private universities have been suspended by
regulatory body, the National Universities
Commission, for allegedly violating its preset
guidelines in physical facilities and academic
programmes.
Lead City University, Ibadan; , Caritas University,
Enugu; Joseph Ayo Babalola University; Tansian
University, Madonna University, Okija and other
campuses; Achievers University and Obong
University are the affected schools.
The Director of Press and Public Relations of NUC,
Mallam Ibrahim Yakassai, confirmed this to pressmen
on Wednesday evening.
Sources say the decision to suspend the operational
licences of the affected universities was due to their
non-compliance with the regulations guiding the
operations of universities in the country as stipulated
by the NUC.
